David Lawrence Convention Center, PittsburghRAPID 2013 is being held at the David Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh.
The event is organised by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and runs from today (June 10th) until the 13th at the David Lawrence Convention Center. Over its four-day run, RAPID has set up a packed agenda of presentations, workshops and competitions.
For two decades now, the event has been dedicated to the success of additive manufacturing and 3D imaging users, technology builders and service providers, and SLM Solutions is attending this year as a sponsor of the exhibition.
Based in Lübeck, with the subsidiary SLM Solutions NA Inc in Novi Michigan, SLM Solutions will be present its laser melting system SLM 280 HL in the main exhibition area for current and prospective business partners to see.
Henner Schöneborn, Member of the Board SLM Solutions, and Stefan Ritt, Export Sales & Marketing Director of SLM Solutions, will jointly represent SLM Solutions in Pittsburgh along with the American Manager-Director James Fendrick.
Stefan Ritt will help shape the conference programme with his presentation Metal Additive Manufacturing Goes Bigger and Faster to Meet the Manufacturing Challenges of Tomorrow. His speech will cover the worldwide development of SLM technologies.
Moreover, Mr Ritt will present the latest SLM investments and accounts of experiences in research and development. SLM Solutions works closely in research and development, along with renowned universities and institutes.
Mr Schöneborn said: "The common goal is the research and development of efficient and high quality solutions for the production of prototypes, small series and individual series products under the premise to provide customers with the highest possible productivity with flexibility."
Mr Fendrick added: "This approach is supported by the recently concluded cooperation agreement with EADS. We also recognise the trend to additive manufacturing systems offering high precision manufacturing solutions for prototypes and small series parts in the US.
"Our systems give companies the chance to optimise their production in a more efficient and independent way."
