China’s largest manufacturer of metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems, Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) has invested in the Materialise Control Platform and plans to equip its Selective Laser Melting machines with it to deliver greater control.
BLT launched one of its latest machines, the BLT-S200 at TCT Asia earlier this year and serves applications in the aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing and automotive industries. It has since introduced a larger version, the BLT-S300.
The Materialise Control Platform is a modular, software-driven, embedded hardware technology that provides greater control over laser-based 3D printers for R&D applications, machine manufacturers and users who want to adapt production process to their specific needs. The controller hardware is also fully compatible with Materialise’s Magics 3D Print Suite software platform, that covers the entire production process from design to finishing.
BLT intends to use the Materialise Control Platform to take full control over the AM process, to accelerate their machine R&D process and to strengthen process development. The software will allow them to gain in-depth insight into the behaviour of their machines with real time data and adapt performance to deliver optimum output.
Xue Lei CEO of Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies, commented: “This new hardware controller for additive manufacturing provides us with the necessary tools, via its flexibility and openness, to reinforce our company focus with reference to an optimal design, a reduction in production cost and environmental impact, and an improvement in quality for our metal AM solutions.”
BLT has over two decades of experience in metal 3D printing and equipped with the Materialise Control Platform, is set to grow its AM capabilities at a rapid pace. The company owns 26 invention patents in metal additive technologies and provides a complete solution for additive manufacture and repair, including customised production, equipment, consumables, software and services.
