KTP Associate Jewellery Business Centre
Salary: £22,500 plus bonus
(30 Months, Fixed-Term Contract)
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are between businesses and the University, placing Associates to work on challenging, high profile projects (www.ktpinnovateuk.org). This post will be located at SBS Insurance Services Limited, Beecroft Court, Beecroft Road, Cannock Staffordshire, WS11 1JP.
Birmingham City University require a KTP Associate to deliver a strategic programme for SBS Insurance Services which will establish a unique insurance customer service that adds greater control to high net worth (HNW) jewellery claims, by developing a facility that will enable either replication or repair/restoration of lost or damaged jewellery items.
The Associate will have a good honours or higher degree from an engineering or jewellery course and have an understanding of precisely engineered, high value products. Subject specialisations in 3D CAD for small product/jewellery and/or manufacture would be an advantage. Experience in manufacturing jewellery and/or manufacturing processes, new product and process development, and their application is desirable. Demonstrable experience in precisely engineered, high value products will be an advantage.
The associate should possess commercial acumen and an appreciation of the need for a strategic business strategy.
Enthusiasm and flair for design and innovation is essential. The project will be fully supported by the Faculty of Art, Design and Media, Birmingham City University. This support includes an individual development plan, formal management training, plus a dedicated training budget worth £5,000, and the opportunity to pursue a MA/MPhil or PhD.
