The new Monolith 3D Printer by designer and creator Benjamin Paul from Southern California-based Acme Design is a large scale, high resolution, high speed, UV polymer based 3D printer.
The price and build material cost is considerably lower than other comparable devices on the market and much better looking! The regular price for this 3D printer is $14,950.00, however, the introductory price is ONLY $9,950.00 (free shipping and one gal UV resin included)
The Monolith 3D printer creates 3D objects using UV curable resin. It is constructed in precision milled, aircraft-grade aluminium and the glass top surface on this printer acts as both the interactive display menu and UV light source for building objects.
The Monolith was intentionally designed to be free of the need for any preparation software. This allows the user to choose the 3D software that best fits their needs. All you have to do is simply supply the black and white layer images (jpeg, png, etc) stored on a usb flash drive and select project from the onscreen menu and it will automatically take it from there and print it out. There is no host computer required for this process.
