At RAPID + TCT 2017 Aleph Objects was showcasing a wide-range of uses for its range of Lulzbot open-source 3D printers and now open-source filament. There 3D printed fidget spinners, dancing robots and a mobile phone testing rig from a company called Tapster, which is using Lulzbot printers to manufacture final products.
However, the most eye-catching application on display was the motorbike from MotoMinded. There are a lot of motorbikes at trade shows with 3D printed parts but in the main, they'll never see the light of day. The difference with MotoMinded's story is he is selling 3D printed aftermarket parts for some of the world's most popular Motocross bikes, and he is selling them in droves.
At the show in Pittsburgh, President of Aleph Objects, Harris Kenny took some time to talk to TCT about some of the applications and introduce us to Chris Vestal, founder of MotoMinded who gave us a closer look at the most popular 3D printed moto parts.
