3D Platform to showcase entry-level large format 3D printer and WorkBench Pro at RAPID + TCT

Large-format 3D printer manufacturer, 3D Platform will be bringing a range of new products to RAPID + TCT next month including an entry-level 3D printer, Pro model and new High Flow Air Cooled (HFA) extruder.

The first of these latest innovations is the new 100 Series WorkTable 3D printer, designed for smaller businesses, schools and entry-level designers with a low price point of under $15,000 and the same large build areas as the Workbench Classic (1m x 1m x 0.5m). Key features include a Volcano Extruder as standard, mechanical bed levelling, 100 micron layer resolution, enclosure compatibility and open-market advantage which 3D Platform claims could save users up to 90% on materials and software costs.

“Our new series of machines is a direct response to what are customers have been asking for,” Jonathan Schroeder, President of 3D Platform explained. “Our WorkTable 100 Series is designed for smaller businesses, schools, and entry-level designers looking to implement large-format, industrial strength 3D printing into their projects, but at a lower entry cost.”

The recently launched Workbench Pro 3D printer will also be on display and features 3D Platform’s biggest build volume yet with an area of 1m x 1m x 0.7m and, thanks to the new HFA Extruder, is twice as fast as the Workbench Classic. Speeding the process up even further, optional HFE 300 and 900 extruder upgrades allow the machine to reach print speeds up to 16 times faster.

The Workbench Pro's industrial strength mechatronics deliver superior performance and reliability, and its SIMO Series actuators and Constant Force anti-backlash lead screws and nuts provide a rugged, industrial framework. Additional features include; SurePrint Servo Technology which cuts print times in half. an advanced cooling system, touch probe, enhanced filament feed system, folding gantry, Wi-Fi connectivity and the same open market benefits as the WorkTable model.

“We’ve had a lot of success with our Workbench machine over the last 15 months. Our customers have asked us to take it to the next level, and we’ve successfully delivered on that request,” Schroeder, commented. “Building on our super-reliable mechatronic system, we included a faster processor, touch-screen control, built-in Wi-Fi, 40% more print volume, and mesh bed levelling - features that our customers requested. This game-changing throughput increase will dramatically help our customers get more out of their additive workflows.”

The HFA extruder technology compatible with both of these machines is the first in a new line of high-performance, high-speed extruders from 3D Platform that deliver maximum output and reliability, resolutions down to 50 microns, and nozzle sizes of 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 2.5mm.
