FluroX print profile now available in Ultimaker Cura as part of Material Alliance Program.
Specialty chemicals and materials company, Arkema, has announced the addition of a new high-performance polymer to Ultimaker’s Material Alliance Program.
In collaboration with filament manufacturer 3DXTech, FluroX is based on Arkema’s Kynar PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) which provides high thermal and chemical resistance for industrial-grade printing. Parts produdced with the material show strong flammability performance and abrasion resistance, making it ideal for applications such as jigs and fixtures or low-volume components in the automotive, industrial and aerospace markets.
Using Ultimaker’s Cura print preparation software, desktop 3D printing users will now be able to select FluroX’s print profile to ensure optimum print results.

Having the print profile available in the Cura program is extremely helpful, especially for advanced semi-crystalline materials."

Arkema joins a number of materials companies including Polymaker, DSM, BASF and Clariant, who have already added their 3D printing materials profiles to Ultimaker’s marketplace. First announced at RAPID + TCT last year, the initiative aims to expand the choice of materials and applications for extrusion-based 3D printing.
