Lancashire3D
Lancashire3D plant
A 3D printing studio offering prototyping and serial production services has opened in the North of England.
Lancashire3D was founded in April 2018, and with the launch of its first facility is ready to produce prototypes and end-use components using material extrusion and VAT photopolymerisation processes. The company currently boasts 35 machines and has had early dealings with trade and consumer customers, harnessing its 3D printing capacity to fulfil prototyping requests, as well as small runs of between 10-2,000+ units, and larger runs of 5,000+ items.
Operating out of Preston, Lancashire3D is also preparing to offer 3D scanning and reverse engineering services, and is making headway on bringing powder bed fusion technologies in-house too. Also in 2019, the company is committed to ensuring sustainable production through the use of up to 90% recycled thermoplastics and 100% recyclable paper-based packaging. Before the year is out, Lancashire3D plans to be able to recycle 100% of its waste thermoplastic material.
The company has been launched to address the needs within the consumer and industrial markets, delivering 3D printed parts and prototypes ‘within short timeframes and at a competitive price.’
“We bring more than ten years’ technology, design and industry experience and are committed to developing truly innovative ways to marry the art and science of 3D printing, while delivering on our vision to work with recyclable materials,” commented Steven Pearson, Co-Founder of Lancashire3D. “Lancashire3D has grown to be the largest 3D printing studio in the North of England and our new Lancashire based plant will allow us to handle a greater range of engineering materials and support our continued expansion. We are delighted to be able to welcome clients to visit us and share their projects and requirements with is in person at our new studio and plant.”
