Quadpack Industries invests in Stratasys J750.
Quadpack Industries, an international provider of beauty packaging solutions, has installed a Stratasys J750 machine in its UK research and design facility.
The installation of the multi-material and multi-colour PolyJet platform comes as part of a €200k investment, Quadpack hoping to harness 3D printing to streamline the early stages of bespoke package design and development.
Quadpack has begun leveraging the J750 for prototyping to trial ideas for its Q-Line range of packaging; for development samples, which are created for bespoke models for clients; and trial moulds closer to production, which can be printed for low-volume testing of the final product in the same material that will be used during production. These trial moulds are said to be compatible with the production lines at the Quadpack Plastics injection moulding plant.

These 3D printed moulds can be produced in less than 24 hours in digital ABS, which is faster than standard trial moulds, and the colour detail also helps Quadpack and its clients to better assess new design ideas.
“It is our mission to deliver true innovation,” commented Jeremy Garrard, Director of Design and Advanced Technologies. “With 3D models and trial moulds, we can make ideas a reality faster, helping us to develop the right products for our Q-Line range, with an efficient and accelerated industrialisation.
“The Stratasys J750 is key to achieving faster time to market, making visualisation of bespoke products easier. For clients, a high-quality 3D model is a sure way to see what the finished product will look like. You can see it, feel it, touch it. It makes the idea real.”
