Renishaw N American AM Solutions Centre
With AM set continuing to impact the manufacturing sector in in industries from aerospace to medical, Renishaw is seeking to ensure its customer base in Canada can access some of the AM industry’s most effective technologies.
Global engineering and technology manufacturer, Renishaw has opened its first North American Additive Manufacturing Solutions Centre in Kitchener, Canada.
First announced in November 2016, the new facility provides a secure development environment where customers can gain knowledge and confidence using additive manufacturing technologies. The Solutions Centre is staffed with skilled applications engineers and gives customers access to additive manufacturing technology at a manageable cost.

“The new Solutions Centre will provide North American customers with a cost-effective, rapid learning environment where companies can build confidence and knowledge in the applications of additive manufacturing,” explained Marc Saunders, Director of Global Solutions Centres of Renishaw. “The Canadian Centre forms a vital chain in the global network.”
Renishaw believe its new facility complements the established advanced manufacturing sector in Canada and will aid the acceleration of industrial additive manufacturing processes. The centre houses a range of Renishaw technology, including the AM250 and AM400 additive manufacturing systems, as well as metrology and finishing equipment.
“The Solutions Centre contains everything a customer needs to create a functional part and verify that it is correct,” clarified Mark Kirby, Renishaw Additive Manufacturing Business Manager. “Renishaw’s knowledge of metrology, machining and finishing means that for a predictable cost the customer can move down the additive manufacturing learning curve with minimal risk.
“We have already engaged with a number of end-users from the local community, including in the medical and aerospace sectors. The experienced team of applications engineers provide customers with expertise across a range of functional manufacturing sectors.”
The launch of this Canadian Centre is the latest step in Renishaw’s commitment to making additive manufacturing a mainstream manufacturing technology used in series production in a range of industries including aerospace, medical, and oil and gas.
