Creaform VXInspect
Users can work faster and smarter with VXinspect.
Portable measurement solutions leader, Creaform has announced the launch of its latest version of VXelements 3D software platform, featuring an updated suite of applications.
Creaform believes the enhanced software package brings a more comprehensive experience to end-users, with what the company describes as an ‘unmatched hardware to software synergy’ for such applications as reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and dimensional inspection.
The VXelements 6.0 update brings advancements to VXinspect, its dimensional inspection module, and VXmodel, its scan-to-CAD module.
Last week, Creaform revealed its HandySCAN line of 3D scanners had been certified by Airbus, and announced MaxSHOT 3D, an optical coordinate measuring system would be presented at Control 2017 in Stuttgart, Germany. Through the VXelements 6.0 update, VXinspect will support the MaxSHOT 3D system, enabling users to extract entities automatically from targets and combine scan with optical probing data to get more complete inspection results. Moreover, it’s also possible to get a colour map from best-fit photogrammetry model to CAD files, in one click of a mouse. With an improved workflow, alignment methods for enabling surface best-fit constrains, and an enhanced interactivity in its 3D viewer for feature creation, users can work faster and smarter with VXinspect.
Meanwhile, the VXmodel module is now compatible with other software platforms, including SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor and SolidEDGE. Users can transfer data between the platforms, giving them greater flexibility. VXmodel’s alignments optimisation feature allows simplified management of its alignment process for projects with multiple STL files.
“The VXelements algorithms seamlessly simplify metrology for users from different levels of expertise so they can access a wide range of powerful new features to improve productivity, time-to-market and operating costs,” said Daniel Brown, Product Management Director at Creaform. “New software capabilities and improvements made to the VXinspect and VXmodel modules address the industry’s need for fast, highly accurate results – in both design and inspection workflows.
“We are excited to put more power, as well as user-friendly photogrammetry capabilities, into the users’ hands so they can be confident their results meet their industries’ strict requirements.”
Creaform is showcasing a host of new products, including the VXelements software suite, at CONTROL 2017, Booth #5108 in Hall 5.
