29th annual users group conference will be located in Chicago.
The Additive Manufacturer’s Users Group (AMUG) has announced its latest European Ambassador ahead of its 2017 conference later this month.
Andrew Allshorn, the Managing Director of North Wales-based company At 3D-Squared Limited, will represent AMUG throughout Europe. His appointment to this role comes 12 months after he received an AMUG DINO award.
The Annual AMUG Conference, taking place this year from March 19th – March 23rd, is a highlight of the additive manufacturing event calendar, organised by users for users. Typically, the event welcomes a large number of global attendees with opportunities for education, training, information exchange, and networking about additive manufacturing and 3D printing. The conference encourages and aims to promote user-to-user transfer of knowledge, which will help the industry grow.
Allshorn’s appointment as a European Ambassador comes in recognition of his tireless work in raising global awareness of AM in a variety of roles during the last three decades. Since 2007, Allshorn has run his own successful consultancy business. At 3D-Squared provides dedicated and strategic support services for organisations involved with AM to maximise the technology’s capabilities.
“I am honoured to become a European Ambassador for AMUG. This is one of our industry’s most important events which I attend each year,” said Allshorn. “It’s where information about AM gets shared and disseminated, providing vital information on how to apply this technology into industry, not just marketing spin.
“It’s always a two-way flow of information, because while I am more than happy to impart knowledge and experience via seminars and AMUG’s specially organised networking events, I always learn something new too, even after all these years in the industry – that’s what is so special about AMUG.”
Allshorn’s company, At 3D-Squared offers its personnel’s knowledge of the software, hardware and materials aspects that must be combined to generate best practice and results when using additive manufacturing technology. The company was awarded the ‘Clogau Gold Growth through Innovation’ award at the Daily Post Achievement Wales 2011 Awards, which followed local success at the Flintshire Business Awards months earlier.
With an extensive knowledge base, At 3D-Squared is able to call upon a well-established global network of contacts and offers a comprehensive service, including machine acquisition, lease management, training and maintenance.
