FIT Additive Manufacturing Group has continued its expansion and advancing its software development capability with the establishment of a fully-owned subsidiary in Romania.
The German company is escalating its presence in Europe with FIT Additive S.R.L which will operate in Brasov, Romania.
An industrial additive manufacturing solution provider, FIT AG is committed to harnessing its expertise in AM to improve the form and function of products. Yet, the company also recognises to achieve this at an optimum rate, redesigns may be required, and thus software programs must be able to deliver a sufficient standard. To ensure these new AM designs be cost-effectively, FIT is automating and standardising the AM workflow by enhancing its software development capabilities.
FIT is currently developing a proprietary software solution for a lot size of one. Since AM lot sizes can be small, it can be challenging to optimise cost. This is because different parts cannot necessarily be combined in the same lot. FIT says it is capacity planning in order to coordinate AM processes globally, in real time. This would provide the highest level of quality assurance at the lowest possible cost on an industrial scale anywhere in the world.
