MEET Lab
The MEET Lab project is a collaboration between Cardiff School of Engineering (Cardiff University), PDR and Fab Lab Cardiff (Cardiff Metropolitan University) supported by the Welsh Government.
The project is looking for micro enterprises, entrepreneurs and inventors, based in Wales or further afield, to work with the MEET Lab team and experiment with emergent technologies such as 3D Printing in order to incorporate them into their design and manufacturing process.
MEET Lab provides:
- Hands-on experience in using of digital technologies through thematic workshops
- Advice and guidance on:
- i. design for 3D printing and digital production
- ii. making the most of 3D printing and digital technologies and integrating them into your business mode.
- Awareness-raising of, and signposting to, local designers and suppliers of 3D printing services
MEET Lab is also looking to gather information on how micro SMEs and individual makers (creative practitioners/ entrepreneurs/ designers) are adopting emergent technologies — such as 3D printing — into their practice. Whether adopting new business processes, moving into new markets, or solely experimenting with a new business idea made possible with these new technologies, MEET Lab is offering help. Micro SMEs and individuals using these technologies as part of their own business (or future business) are invited to complete this short survey. Anyone completing the questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw for a sample 3D printed part (up to £400) using an Additive Manufacturing process of your choice*.
*Part 3D file must consist of one part only (one single closed volume or shell); the part must fit within a 200x200x200mm building envelope; technologies available: SLA, SLS, FDM, DLP
