Surface finishing company, PostProcess Technologies is introducing the second-generation DECI Rectangular, the company’s largest product in its Surface Finish (SF) series.
A provider of automated and intelligent post-processing solutions for 3D printed parts, the New York-based company is committed to eliminating the ‘bottleneck’ associated with manual post-printing of additive parts, through the continued development of such technologies as DECI Rectangular. PostProcess Technologies believe this is fundamental if the potential of 3D printing in driving the future of manufacturing is to be realised.
The SF DECI Rectangular is the only automated SF machine that has been specifically designed for additive parts. Based on customer feedback and driven by the innovation of PostProcess, the SF DECI Rectangular integrates proprietary agitation algorithms into a system that is designed with a large chamber. It is capable of finishing parts printed with any additive technology and all additive materials.
This technological advancement can be used for both higher volume production runs and for larger complex geometries. The SF DECI Rectangular boasts a divided chamber that allows for two parallel production processes to occur independently, with different consumables, providing additional versatility to accommodate the rapid growth of the industry.
“We are pioneering the way in bringing real time automation to additive,” said Daniel J. Hutchinson, Founder & CTO, PostProcess. “Our latest SF DECI Rectangular increases production scalability enabling our customers to meet the higher demand for larger geometries in production runs.”
Beckhoff, the exclusive provider of industrial automation components for all PostProcess machines, offers real-time data acquisition to intelligently auto tune the machine operation with one-touch programming from start to stop. PostProcess regard the company’s assistance as crucial in providing the precision energy management that underpins all of its production solutions, including hardware, software and chemistry.
“All of Beckhoff products selected by PostProcess are powerful solutions from the ‘all-in-one’ human machine interface (HMI) to the precision motion control,” said Eric Reiner, Industrial PC Market Specialist, Beckhoff Automation. “The compact panel, with colour touchscreen display, is built to the highest quality standards using industrial-grade aluminium and steel for an exceptionally robust device housing. With scalable multicore processors that go up to 4-core Intel Atom in this variant, the demanding HMI and machine control functions are effectively executed in one multi-tasking device.”
