Founded in 2014, the Krakow-based company has been committed to developing professional, cost-effective 3D printers in Laser Sintering technology.
Polish 3D printing manufacturer, Sinterit has announced it has secured additional funding of €1.1 million through way of a rights issue.
The developer of desktop laser sintering systems received the investment from German additive manufacturer, FIT AG, based in Lupburg near Munich. While terms of the funding have not been disclosed, Sinterit maintains its independency and FIT AG has not taken a seat on its board.
FIT AG’s motive for injecting over €1 million into Sinterit is instead to provide the Polish company with a more secure foundation to continue innovating and bringing its resulting products to market.
“From time to time, we support start-up companies in our ecosystem, when we are convinced that the product idea and the management team stand a chance of success,” said Carl Fruth, CEO of FIT AG. “We have done so with Wiivv, and we are now delighted to help Sinterit push their wonderful machines into the world market.”
Sinterit welcomed the investment with open arms, not least because of the volume of finance involved, but also because the company can now lean on FIT AG’s additive manufacturing expertise. Powet Szczurek, Sinterit’s CEO, is confident the partnership will mean better products in new markets.
“We’re extremely proud and excited by the fact that FIT AG has decided to become our business partner,” said Szczurek. “Their capital but also knowledge and experience in the field of additive manufacturing will definitely help us to expand to the new markets and create new great products for our customers.”
