ViscoTec, a dosing technology company based in Germany, has announced the expansion of its Business Development Additive Manufacturing department.
Felix Gruber, who has been a long-term member of the company’s Product Management and Sales team, has transferred over to ViscoTec’s dedicated division to additive manufacturing.
Joining Florian Pelzl, the pair will take responsibility for all aspects of the company’s additive manufacturing and 3D printing business. Gruber is primarily conduct most of the sales and marketing activities, while Pelzl is overseeing research and development, cooperating with a number of partners in the process.
The Business Development Additive Manufacturing was established in 2015 in response to the growth of 3D printing. As it developed into an industrial production tool, ViscoTec moved to recognise the technology with its own department. And it looks like they will continue to do so.
“We still see tremendous potential in this area,” said Georg Senftl, Managing Director of ViscoTec Pumpen-und Dosiertechnik GmbH. “Over the last few years, we have had a lot of exciting projects in 3D printing, which we are able to achieve and shape with our technology – partly already in the development phase – which has a great advantage for us. We were able to refine our technology, epically for additive production, and to adapt our print heads perfectly to the given conditions. The market is changing very quickly and we want to respond as quickly as possible. For this reason, we expanded the department in January.”
ViscoTec’s product range for 3D printing includes print heads, as well as feed systems, for 1 and 2-component fluids with different viscosities. All systems deliver a shear-sensitive, pressure-stable and pulsation-free material application, and can be integrated into a host of existing 3D printing platforms.
