Go!SCAN SPARK 3D is tailored specifically to product designers and engineers.
3D measurement technology specialist, Creaform, has today launched two new handheld scanners, the Go!SCAN 3D SPARK and HandySCAN BLACK.
Set to make their debut at the Control show in Stuttgart next month, the scanners mark the third generation in Creaform’s professional-grade Go!SCAN and metrology-grade HandySCAN product lines.
The reengineered Go!SCAN 3D has been ergonomically designed to improve the scanning process for product designers and engineers. It features four inline cameras for speedier scanning and colour acquisition and enables full-field dimensional measurements on a variety of surfaces and textures. Improved optics, multiple blue laser technology and powerful algorithms are said to deliver 3 x faster measurement, twice the accuracy, 4 x better resolution and instant workable files.
“Today, product development teams are under increasing pressure to innovate more quickly, work with multidisciplinary, remote teams and launch products faster than ever before,” said Simon Côté, Product Manager at Creaform. “Go!SCAN SPARK generates quality 3D models, facilitates the design iteration process, mitigates errors and speeds up reverse engineering. Without a doubt, the new Go!SCAN SPARK is a key tool in designing products to maintain a leadership position in innovation and a manufacturer’s specific market sectors.”
The latest generation HandySCAN 3D enables faster, more accurate instant measurements.
The second product, HandySCAN BLACK, is Creaform’s flagship portable metrology-grade device aimed at professional users looking to capture accurate dimensional data of physical objects. Built on similar combination of blue laser technology and improved optics, the scanner can capture fine details and large volumes and offers 3 x faster measurement speeds due to a larger scanning area featuring 11 blue laser crosses that take up to 1,300,000 measurements per second. Available in two versions depending on user requirements, the HandySCAN BLACK features a volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.040 mm/m based on VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 as well as ISO 17025, ensuring reliability and full traceability to international standards.
“Over the past decade, Creaform technologies have become the standard in highly accurate metrology tools, trusted to take reliable measurements that help make informed decisions at all stages of the product lifecycle management (PLM),” Côté added. “HandySCAN BLACK packs the benefits of its predecessors and further takes on quality assurance inspections in the shop, at the machine, in process—where the customers need it.”
