FARO Technologies has announced the launch of the Design ScanArm 2.5C, which boasts high resolution and 3D colour capabilities.
The new product is a follow up to the company’s Design ScanArm 2.0, and has been designed to address design challenges that arise in the computer graphics, industrial machinery, auto manufacturing and engineering industries. By offering 3D colour representation, FARO believes it allows the users to reconstruct and visualise objects as vividly as they appear in reality, and its rapid scanning colour capabilities of up to 240,000 points per second, means they can do it in quick time too.
“FARO continues to be laser focused on optimising the productivity of design professionals,” commented Thorsten Brecht, Senior Director Product Design. “By integrating exceptional quality colour into the design process, we have created a best-in class 3D reality experience by allowing users to capture more information, in true-to-life detail richness and colour, in less time than ever before. The Design ScanArm 2.5C is yet another example of FARO pushing the boundaries of innovation and accepting the challenge to lead the market.”
The Design ScanArm 2.5C, like its predecessor, is available in three different arm lengths (2.5m, 3.5m and 4m), providing flexibility and enabling the user to select the option that best suits its project. It is also compatible with the company’s 8-axis FaroArm System, a complete rotational axis which naturally extends the scanner to double its standard reach. With the ScanArm 2.5C, in addition to the 8-axis FaroArm System, the company believes it is addressing the core pain points surrounding speed, productivity and ease of use highlighted by its customer base.
