Taking place on the on 8-10th March, TCT Asia 2017 will be the largest edition of TCT's Shanghai event and as well as a plethora of big 3D printing technology unveilings and debuts, the adjacent TCT Asia Summit is gearing up to deliver three days of talks and insight from a selection of the industry's best minds.

Here are just five reasons why you should attend the TCT Asia 2017 Summit.

1) Local and International Keynotes

Kicking off proceedings, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) will host keynotes from a range of local and international speakers including the venerable Todd Grimm, who will be dishing out his usual insight into the state of the 3D printing industry, Huaming Wang, Professor at the National Engineering Laboratory of Additive Manufacturing for Large Metallic Components, Weidong Huang, Professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Frank Cooper, Senior Lecturer and Technical Manager at Birmingham City University and more. 

"The 'Global Keynote Series' at TCT Asia Summit is a concept that we are looking to export to all our events,” says Head of Content at TCT Group Jim Woodcock. “In China this is made up of a China-based speaker talking on the local market, followed by experts from the UK, Germany, USA, Korea and Japan giving an overview of those markets and local development initiatives."

2) Application-specific Streams

Following the opening keynote sessions, the conference will split into specific application streams including aerospace, automotive, medical, dental and orthopaedics. Talks have been curated from organisations like Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic Shanghai Innovation Center and Stockholm University. If you're looking gain knowledge on how to incorporate additive manufacturing into a particular area of industry, this is where you will find it.

3) Workshops and User Groups

As well as the dedicated summit tracks, the conference will feature a series of workshops and user groups from companies including Materialise, Stratasys, 3D Systems and Siemens which will each deliver a range of technical presentations on new products, user case studies and more.

4) Learning the Basics

The evergreen expert Graham Tromans will present, “How to Evaluate a 3D Printing Machinery among Various Opportunities” on the second day of the TCT Asia Summit. A longstanding figure in TCT's global conference line-ups, Graham is renowned for his 'Introduction to 3D Printing' talks supported by more than 25 years in the industry. In addition Kitty Wang, CEO at 3D Science Valley will deliver an overview of China's 3D printing market over the last 12 months including major players, government support, R&D breakthroughs and key trends.

5) TCT Introducing

The TCT Introducing stage is a platform for companies who have launched new products onto the market in the last 12 months. Presented in short 20 minute presentations, visitors can expect demonstrations across AM hardware, software, materials and metrology. TSC Laser Technology Development (Beijing) Co. Ltd, Materialise, Hunan Farsoon and LPW Technology are just some of the big named featured on the line-up.
