3D Ninja, a Netherlands-based 3D printer reseller, has officially launched the beta version of its new search engine for 3D printable models.

The new product, IFind3D, has been in development for the last 18 months in a bid to make searching for 3D models simpler and faster. Using algorithms, IFind3D combines a host of online resources for 3D printable models into one searchable engine served by almost 100 variables.

In a press release accompanying the launch, 3D Ninja said: “When comparing this to the growth of the internet we have seen exactly the same trend, before the arrival of the large search engine giants like Google, Bing and Yahoo it was quite hard to find quality content online. After just a few years these companies where starting to play an important role in the world, making our lives a lot easier. 3D Ninja expects to achieve the same result with IFind3D in the 3D printing industry.”

Currently the search engine indexes around 70% of all online 3D printing libraries, delivering over 700,000 unique results. Libraries already connected to the engine include Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, YouMagine, Zortrax Library, 3DShook, Repables and ShapeDo. By the end of this year the team expects that to grow towards 90% of all worldwide 3D printable designs.

3D Ninja is the largest reseller of semi-professional 3D printers, 3D scanners and peripherals in the Netherlands and Belgium with machines ranging from sub-300 Euro desktop models from XYZprinting to the industrial MarkForged Mark Two carbon fibre 3D printer.

Ifind3D beta version is now available to try for free here.
