3D Systems has revealed that its ProJet 3510 MP 3D printer and proprietary VisiJet Stoneplast dental materials have been optimised for dental "drill guides".

The industry leader's Stoneplast dental material - which is available both in clear and plaster mode - is used in the ProJet 3510 MP, which is compatible with all leading dental software modules capable of outputting the open .stl format for automated local or distributed manufacturing.

3D Systems chose the LMT Lab Day event at the Sheraton Chicago as the place to unveil this news, with the event running from February 21st to 22nd.

Cathy Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer at 3D Systems, commented: "Transitioning to digital workflows with 3D printing compatibility has brought a high-impact solution to the dental field. The ProJet 3510 MP and Stoneplast materials easily integrate with leading software modules enabling an integrated drillguide manufacturing solution."
