A Very 3D Printed Christmas

Dan Toth has produced a video of all the 3D printed gifts he'll be giving to his family and friends this holiday season

The dawn of internet shopping may have hurt the high street but it has vastly improved the lives of those for whom the very idea of visiting an actual shop at this time of year leaves you breathing into a brown-paper bag, in order to halt the panic attack onset by an elderly lady beating you to the only gift you had in mind for your mother.

There's even those who find the idea of being organised enough to order online before shipping deadlines just too much to ask, there’s also a select few of those in the same Venn Diagram, who’ve blown all their Christmas budget on a shiny new desktop 3D printer. They however will never be in need to do the midnight petrol/gas station run to buy a present for that member of the family who’ve decided at the last bloody minute they’re coming to Christmas dinner after all, they can 3D print their gifts just like Dan Toth.

Dan Toth is an all-round geek, that’s not an insult, being a geek is cool these days. He, like all good geeks, has a 3D printer and he’s using it to give the gift of 3D prints to his family. In the “A Very 3D Printed Christmas” video above he details exactly what he is going to 3D print and for whom.

He’s also handily compiled the models so you, the maker who hates shopping online or the maker who doesn’t want to line the pockets of firms who don’t pay corporation tax, can also 3D print and gift to the family this holiday season. Personally I celebrate Festivus but the pole shop is fresh out of poles at this time of year so the download link comes in handy.

A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!
