voxeljet takes over UK 3D service provider Global TCT

UK company Global TCT is set to be taken over by German 3D printing firm voxeljet this month, increasing its British presence.

British service provider Global TCT is to be taken over by German manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems voxeljet.

The deal will be completed this month (April 2013) and will serve to enhance voxeljet's its presence in the UK.

Global TCT - founded by its Managing Director Kevin Smith - is a 3D printing technology specialists and offers a full service, that ranges from 3D scanning and 3D print services to reverse engineering and metal finishing.

The deal has been welcomed with open arms by voxeljet, with Chief Operating Officer Rudolf Franz describing the acquisition as "an important step in expanding" the company's business in the UK.

"The combination of Global TCT's profound market knowledge and the performance of our service centre - which is one of Europe's largest operations for the on-demand production of sand and plastic moulds - will provide voxeljet with an excellent position in the fast-growing British market," he said.

"British customers can look forward to even better customer orientation with a complete and integrated machinery and service offering."

voxeljet's current client base includes well-known automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, foundries and innovative companies from the arts and design industry.
