ADDMAN has completed the acquisition of polymer additive manufacturing service provider Forecast 3D.
Forecast 3D, which was acquired by GKN Powder Metallurgy in 2019, will operate as part of ADDMAN's Polymer division, expanding the company's polymer 3D printing capabilities, digital infrastructure and West Coast operations. ADDMAN says the acquisition has been made in response to growing customer demand and in line with the company's aim of building the most comprehensive additive manufacturing platform in North America.
It follows similar acquisitions of Dinsmore, Castheon and Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing.
Forecast 3D brings more than 30 years of experience in additive manufacturing to the ADDMAN Group, with the purchasing company expanding its Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) capability. ADDMAN will also continue to run Forecast's digital quoting and customer support platform.
By supplementing its existing Dinsmore facility in Southern California, ADDMAN believes the addition of Forecast 3D and its Carlsbad operation will create a regional hub for polymer additive manufacturing. Customers, ADDMAN says, can expect to benefit from expanded capacity, faster lead times, and seamless access to ADDMAN's broader product portfolio.
"Our strategy has always been about scale and capability," said Joe Calmese, CEO, ADDMAN. "We are building the largest additive manufacturing service provider in the market. Designed to support any part, any process, at any stage of the customer's journey. Bringing Forecast 3D into ADDMAN makes that vision real today, and we will continue to raise the bar for what customers should expect from an advanced manufacturing partner."
Forecast 3D was previously operated as part of a global industrial manufacturing organisation, and the transaction was supported by ADDMAN's leadership team and ownership partners at American Industrial Partners. With this acquisition, ADDMAN's industrial additive fleet is said to exceed 160 systems.
"Reaching this scale matters, but it isn't the finish line," Calmese added. "Our focus is how we use it; where we invest next, how we partner, and how we continue expanding what AM can do. That's the journey we're on at ADDMAN."
Fit for the future: ADDMAN & Dinsmore join forces to enhance polymer additive manufacturing capabilities.
