Aether launches RapidPrint 3D printing filament offering at Formnext

A new polymer filament 3D printing offering that promises to ‘unlock dramatic acceleration’ in the additive manufacturing of high-performance parts has been launched by Aether.

Aether describes itself as an American artificial intelligence company that discovers proteins with high-impact, real-world applications.

Its RapidPrint technology is said to enable fast print speeds and ‘industry-leading mechanical properties’, with the company targeting the aerospace, defence and industrial sectors.

At Formnext, Aether is demonstrating the capabilities of the technology, as well as its forthcoming ‘Ultra Series’ of high-strength polymer filaments, on the AON3D Hylo printer. The RapidPrint PA6 CF10 ABX, a modified PA6 with 10% carbon fibre reinforcement, is set to be the first Aether formulation to be released. This material has been engineered for high flow, broad printer compatibility, and excellent surface finish, while ‘printing effortlessly between 50-250 mm/s.’

With defence and drone manufacturers increasingly relying on additive manufacturing for agile iteration, limited-run production, and field repair, Aether is working to provide material technology that supports high productivity, short development cycles and resilient supply chains.

Aether is exhibiting at Formnext from Hall 11.1, Booth E68, with live demos being performed throughout the week.
