In the moment that you, an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician, are working to neutralise and disable a suspected explosive device, the last thing you want is discomfort or an intrusive thought that your protective wear might let you down.

BSST GmbH is one of the leading manufacturers of EOD suits, with its products being used for bomb disposal around the world.

In recent years, the company has been exploring ways to improve the performance and comfort of its helmets, and, naturally, it came across additive manufacturing (AM).

AM service provider rpm was called upon to assist BSST, with contributions around process development and quality assurance also coming from amsight, Farsoon and Fraunhofer IAP.
