BCN3D used its return to Formnext under new ownership to unveil its latest 3D printing hardware.
The Barcelona-based company, which offers material extrusion-based technologies, introduced the BCN3D Omega I60 G2 last week, promising a 3D printer that's 'Built for the Factory Floor'.
It's the first new machine to come out of BCN3D since its acquisition by Quantum in August following a bankruptcy filing in May.
BCN3D positions the Omega I60 G2 as an industrial system and appears to be the next generation of its high-speed Omega 160 system, which launched back in 2023 geared towards large-format parts.
New features are said to include AI-powered XYZ calibration for more precise and reliable prints, redesigned G2 printheads and 450 x 300 x 450 mm build plate, and an integrated camera within the heated chamber for real-time monitoring. It also offers an active spool control system that feeds or retracts material as required, and upgraded feeder system with three integrated sensors for accurate material flow. The Omega I60 G2 is also said to come with enhanced enhanced cybersecurity, including a 'No WiFi' option.
Like previous BCN3D models, the machine runs on BCN3D’s IDEX (Independent Dual Extruder system) architecture, which allows simultaneous dual printing modes including Duplication and Mirror.
The Omega I60 G2 is available for pre-order until February priced at 22.500 €/ 24.500 USD.
It was quite the week of FFF technology launches in Frankfurt as BCN3D joined the likes of HP, which unveiled its entry into the category with the HP Industrial Filament 3D Printer 600 High Temperature; Bambu Lab, which lifted the curtain on its multi-material H2C platform; and Prusa Research, which teamed with Bondtech to launch the Bondtech INDX 8-material multi-tool upgrade for the Prusa CORE One.
