Bondtech and Prusa Research unveil multi-material 3D printing upgrade

Users of the Prusa CORE One 3D printer will now be able to easily print with up to eight materials thanks to a new compact upgrade from Bondtech.

Prusa Research has teamed with the high-performance extrusion systems supplier to launch the Bondtech INDX, an 8-material multi-tool upgrade for the Prusa CORE One that allows users to combine different filaments with near-zero waste or lengthy filament swaps.

Unveiled at Formnext this week, the upgrade is built on the INDX Smart Toolhead with an aluminium body and a self-adjusting dual-extrusion feeder that automatically adapts to materials of different hardness, eliminate manual tuning. It has also been designed to keep the Prusa CORE One’s compact form factor. Key to that are the INDX Thin Passive Tools, which are lightweight modules that hold only the filament path, nozzle, and heatsink.

“When I saw what Bondtech was building, I immediately knew it had the potential to change the perspective of multi-material printing on single-head printers,” says Josef Prusa, CEO of Prusa Research. “Together, we made sure the INDX feels native on the CORE One.”

Shipping is planned for Q1 2026 with the first run of 1000 units available for pre-order exclusively from the Bondtech website.
