Create and print your own little monster

Autodesk have released their latest 123D app which lets you create your own wicked beast right on your iPad and then print it out

2013 is a big year for making monsters 3D. Last month saw the release of Monsters Inc, the Pixar animation, retrofitted into stereoscopy and today we can print monsters out with stereoliphography.

Autodesk have released an iPad app, 123D Creatures, which claims to be a foolproof 3D modelling tool, available and usable by all.

The app, the latest in Autodesk’s 123D line, is available on iTunes for the princely sum of £1.49 ($1.99, €1.79) and allows users to sculpt and create elaborate creatures from the deepest recesses of the mind.

Starting with a basic skeleton you can use the simple tools to add extra eyes, claws, pincers and pretty much make your fiend as disgusting as possible.

Here’s the really neat bit though, once you’ve sculpted your hideous beast you can either print it off on your home 3D printer or order it directly from Sculpteo.

We look forward to seeing what ghoulish gargoyles you can create…
