Digital Metal 3D printing: "The smaller, the better"

Ralf Carlström, General Manager at Digital Metal talks about the company's proprietary additive manufacturing technology designed for the production of small and complex metal parts.

At TCT Show 2017, Digital Metal marked the commercial launch of its DM P2500 system, the industry’s first high precision binder jetting system, capable of producing small and incredibly intricate metal components.

Ralf Carlström, General Manager at Digital Metal talks to TCT about the machine which uses a proprietary additive manufacturing technology for the production of small and complex metal parts for the automotive, dental, healthcare, aerospace and luxury fashion industries.

"The aim of the whole machine is to provide precision - a lot of high end components and solutions in order to provide small components with high detail accuracy, good surface finish, good tolerances and that we combine with hyper-activity," Ralf explains. "The smaller the better. There is an industry today existing for making a lot of small components based on powders."
