There are countless companies offering 3D body scans to produce a 3D printed mini-me; you can get a specific family portrait frozen in time or turn yourself into a stormtrooper. But what about 3D printing, not a mini-me, just a me? A 1:1 representation of yourself, either to play practical jokes on the family or perhaps as a manikin that fits your clothes perfectly?

There aren’t many 3D printers around that could print a life size version of an adult human being, certainly in one go, but 3DP Unlimited have managed it in just two pieces by printing their Marketing Communications Specialist, Kecheng Lu.

Kecheng was scanned by ESUN 3D+ and then her 1:1 model was printed over the space of seven days. The 3DP Unlimited’s 3DP1000 has one of the biggest build volumes in its class being able to print objects one metre long by one metre wide and 0.5 metres high.

The total printing time of the life size model was 168 hours showcasing 3DP Unlimited’s print reliability, as well as size.

You can see both the 3D printed model as well as the muse behind it on 3DP Unlimited’s stand (G12) at this year’s TCT Show + Personalize. Register here for free.
