On the 9th of February this year FormLabs announced themselves to the world on Twitter with the customary 'hello world' announcement. Fast forward to the 17th of September and we were treated to the start of the countdown to a 'revolution' (anyone else hearing that word wayyy to much these days?) in Low-Cost, High-Resolution 3D printing.
All we know so far is that the printer, which will be high-resolution, is expected to be.. ahem... low-cost. The teaser image doesn't give much away, but the little we can see looks pretty slick. With the slew of digital light projection (DLP) printers coming to the market in various shades of 'professional' it would make sense for FormLabs to bring something polished to this arena.
It's really too early to speculate further, and come the 26th of September it will be out in the open and literally too late to speculate.
