UK 3D printing service bureau, Graphite Additive Manufacturing (AM) is kickstarting 2018 with a new EXPRESS fast-track service for SLS (selective laser sintering) parts.
The company, based in Aylesbury, says last year was its most successful year yet and aims to continue that momentum with a new speedy service option that allows customers to complete urgent projects in as little as two days.
Typical lead times for SLS parts are between 7 to 10 working days but Graphite says this new fast-track EXPRESS service will enable lead times of around 2-5 working days.
Graphite recently expanded its SLS capacity with an addition SLS machine which will be running in-house developed Graphite and Carbon reinforced Nylons. This increased capability is allowing the company to offer this fast service to new and existing customers for the first time.
Describing the increased popularity of these practical, functional light-weight materials in a recent press release, Graphite said its composite Carbon filled Nylon SLS material offers “the best stiffness and strength to weight ratio of any printed Nylon in the UK” whilst its Graphite filled Nylon is capable of delivering “exceptional accuracy and surface finish”.
In addition to its SLS portfolio, Graphite says it is also running some interesting SLA (stereolithography) materials ideal for aero testing, wind tunnel applications and composite tooling.
