The 2026 Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award nominations are officially open!

I always look forward to this time of year. We never know what names are going to come through our submissions process, and there are always plenty that surprise us when we learn about their - often unsung - work in additive manufacturing. But that's kind of why this award exists.

From CEOs to metallurgists to biomedical engineers, the variety of expertise we get on the long-list for this award continues to genuinely inspire. Just take a look at some of the work from past nominees and winners.

Katie Weimer co-founded GenesisTissue, a new 3D bioprinting company that goes ‘beyond repair to true regeneration':

The Genesis of 3D printing’s next frontier?
“We can now develop the next generation of implants that help regenerate lost tissue and eventually become ‘self’.”

Jonné Messer's 3D printing leadership at Ford Motor Company has saved the automotive company upwards of $11 million over the last eight years:

The road less travelled: Inside Ford’s additive manufacturing lab
“We’ve had some of the craziest things come to us. You can print just about everything, but should you? No.”

Materialise CEO Brigitte de Vet-Veithen is leading one of the industry's oldest companies through new market opportunities with a long-term vision for AM's potential:

#223 Materialise CEO Brigitte de Vet-Veithen: ‘Additive manufacturing is still a revolution’
On this episode of TCT’s Additive Insight Podcast, Materialise CEO, Brigitte de Vet-Veithen joins to discuss additive manufacturing value, its huge potential and competition.

This will be TCT's sixth year working with Women in 3D Printing to deliver this award. When Amanda Hull, Nora Toure and I got together in 2019 to establish this joint collaboration, we wanted to shine a light on the work being done by women inventors, researchers, adopters and advocators. With nominations now open, this is your chance to highlight the female innovators who are leading the way in our industry.

Past recipients include: Wai Yee Yeong, Professor and Chair, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University Singapore (2019); Eliana Fu, Business Development Manager, Aerospace at TRUMPF (2022); Alba Gonzalez Alvarez, CEO and Founder at Xcure Surgical (2023); Brigitte de Vet, Chief Executive Officer at Materialise (2024) ; and Jonné Messer, global additive manufacturing lead at Ford Motor Company (2025).

As is now tradition, I'll be hosting a live panel with each of our finalists early next year so that you can get to know them before casting your vote.

How do I nominate someone for the TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award?

The TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award nomination process is open to anyone. We want to hear about the women who have shown passion, expertise and innovation within the 3D printing industry. For example, this could be:

  • Engineers developing new processes
  • Researchers paving the way for new technology advancements
  • Users exploring novel applications
  • Educators championing AM

You can submit your nomination here. Tell us about their work and why they should be recognised as the next TCT WI3DP Innovator.

When do the TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award nominations close?

You don't have long to get your entries in! The deadline for nominations is December 10th, after which all nominees will be considered on individual merit by WI3DP and TCT who will have the difficult task of whittling them down to a list of finalists. The selected finalists will then go to a public vote.

When will the winner of the TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award be announced?

The winner will be announced at the TCT Awards ceremony in Boston on 14th April 2026. It is the first year TCT will joining with our partners at SME to combine our awards programmes into one night celebrating global additive manufacturing excellence.
