Emerging rapid prototyping bureau KAIDEX is calling on all innovators and designers to help design a showpiece for the KAIDEX South Wales Technology Centre.

The winner of the KAIDEX Dragon Challenge will take home a one-off prototype fully made and finished completely free of charge. The company is offering this "unique opportunity" to skilled individuals who can come up with a design that is eye-catching and demonstrates the sophisticated technology the company has at its fingertips.

The KAIDEX Dragon Challenge opened for entries online at www.kaidex.co.uk/kaidex-dragon-challenge/ on October 1st and closes on November 30th 2013.

KAIDEX has rapidly grown into its Technology Centre based in South Wales and has build up a reputation for providing a one-stop-shop service with a "jump-in, jump-out" approach allowing clients to come to the company at any of their key progress stages from design, development, innovation, engineering, rapid prototyping and full production gateway.

Within the KAIDEX Technology Centre, the team of experts can offer customers in-house CAD design, a wide selection of additive manufacturing processes, a full finishing service and the ability to move prototypes into a full production gateway through its network of key suppliers.

Chris Davidge, Operations Manager at KAIDEX, commented: "Here at KAIDEX our ethos is all about innovation and progression, so we were looking for a competition where we could get the contestants to think outside the box. As we are based in Wales thought it was fitting to set up the Dragon Challenge where we are looking for the most innovative and functional design to showpiece at our South Wales Technology Centre.

" Our own team of innovators will be judging the entries so we are looking for something away from the ordinary, fun, innovative but still functional as a showpiece. We are not necessarily looking for a stand-alone piece, we are open to wall mounted or even hanging designs. I hope people take the opportunity to enter the Dragon Challenge and I look forward to seeing the innovative designs that we receive."

KAIDEX made its presence known at TCT Show + Personalize at the NEC in Birmingham on September 25th and 26th, offering a further insight into the services it offers. Those who did not get the chance to stop can find all of the company’s services information at www.kaidex.co.uk .
