When TCT last met with Interspectral CEO Isabelle Hachette, the message was clear: ‘there is no lack of data’ from additive manufacturing (AM) – just a lack of tools to fully utilise it.
It is this realisation in 2021 that first led the Swedish technology company to build AM Explorer, a visualisation and data analysis software designed specifically to turn complex additive manufacturing data into useful insights.
Speaking following the launch of Interspectral's latest release - an expansion of AM Explorer into a full suite of products - has Hachette's read on the industry changed?
"I think the awareness about the how to use the data, the data sizes are still as big, there's a lot of data collection going on," Hachette told TCT. "We are providing the tools for drawing conclusions and making smart decisions."
Those tools were recently expanded with the launch of Interspectral's new AM Explorer suite. Building on its initial product, which has been adopted by the likes of GKN Aerospace to improve quality assurance and process monitoring, AM Explorer suite is a modular software platform made up of four segments: QUALIFY, DETECT, MONITOR and ENTERPRISE.
"The four modules make up a complete solution package for quality assurance of a build job and of each individual part, supporting both in-situ and post-build workflows," Hachette explained.
