Additive manufacturing industry veteran Joe Allison will become the latest inductee into the TCT Hall of Fame next month.
The TCT Hall of Fame is a lasting tribute to the pioneering individuals whose dedication has shaped the trajectory of additive manufacturing.
Each year, the TCT Awards Judging Panel - comprising leading experts from across the AM industry - conducts a rigorous three‑stage review process to select individuals whose career embodies decades of innovation, leadership, and impact.
This year, Joe Allison accrued the most votes and will be inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame at a special joint TCT Awards and SME AM Awards ceremony in Boston, USA, on 14 April during RAPID + TCT.
Joe Allison co‑founded Solid Concepts in 1991, where his development of industry‑first tools such as automated support‑generation software for stereolithography and the universal CAD viewer, dramatically expanded the usability and scalability of 3D printing.
Under his leadership, Solid Concepts grew into the world’s largest supplier of 3D printed parts, accelerating industry adoption and setting new benchmarks for production‑grade additive manufacturing. Today, Allison continues to influence the sector as a founding member of 3D Ventures and CEO of Gentle Giant Studios.
The TCT Hall of Fame will be one of just several awards distributed at the joint TCT Awards and SME AM Awards ceremony. Last month, we announced the full list of shortlisted nominees for the technology and application TCT Awards categories, with General Motors, NASA & MOD among the shortlisted brands.
