MakieLab's Makie dolls have taken the world by storm and now customising your doll couldn't be easier with the release of their new iPad app

Makies of MakieLab the personalized dolls, and first 3D printed toy to display the CE mark, have announced their latest arrival and milestone, an iPad app!

The free app, Makies Doll Factory, makes it even easier for users to create their own doll. Previously to create your ten-inch completely customizable figurine you have had to use MakieLab’s browser based software.

With the release of the iPad only app, picking your doll's gender, eye/hair colour, sculpting facial features and just about anything else you can think of will be made even easier. The app alone will provide hours of fun for children and us adults who love a new bit of tech alike.

Once you’re happy with your Frankensteinian creation you can order it via the iPad and you’ll have your doll sitting with you, making your next doll, in no time at all. Makies have also reduced their base price to £59.99 ($90, €70) exclusively to app users for now, though the website price will also fall in line shortly.

This announcement comes on the back of Sculpteo’s partnership with Polish app developers Infinite Dreams’ Let’s Create! Pottery, which allows users to create ceramic masterpieces on their iPads and have it printed by Sculpteo. It seems iPad and 3D printing integration is the new black.
