Mark Chester is the Manufacturing and Distribution Exploration Lead at Specsavers. His role focuses on investigating new technologies for manufacturing and distributing emerging devices across eyewear, contact lenses and hearing aids. This includes the integration of additive manufacturing processes for the future production of smart devices.
Previously, Mark was Additive Manufacturing Lead at the PrintCity digital manufacturing facility at Manchester Metropolitan University. Across a period of 7 years, Mark helped to grow and develop the facility which now has over 100 3D printers. Within this role, Mark helped companies across the UK to adopt digital manufacturing technologies such as Additive Manufacturing and 3D scanning. PrintCity has worked with wide range of industries including everything from Automotive to Food & Beverage.
