Materialise acquires leading Polish 3D printing business

Leading Polish 3D printing company e-Prototypy has been acquired by service bureau Materialise.

Materialise has announced its acquisition of leading Polish provider of rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies e-Prototypy.

The market leader in the Poland region, e-Prototypy has been active since 2008, offering a broad range of 3D printing solutions with a specialisation in the production of laser sintering components, while it has invested in scanning and reverse engineering services in recent years.

Vice-President of Industrial Production at Materialise Bart Van Der Schueren said: "With the acquisition of e-Prototypy, Materialise shows its commitment to further invest in the east-European market.

"Thanks to the acquisition, Polish customers will be gaining access to the vast production capacity of Materialise. Furthermore, current Materialise customers will benefit from access to the scanning and reverse engineering services of e-Prototypy."

Since 2005, Materialise has been a market leader in the Czech market through its subsidiary in Usti Nad Labem, which is north of Prague and near to the Czech-German border. It is one of the best-known service bureaux in the industry with its reach extending throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

In September, CEO of Materialise Fried Vancraen will be keynoting at the annual TCT Show + Personalize, which will run from September 30th to October 2nd at the NEC, Birmingham, UK.
