Questions for your Renishaw RenAM evaluation
What laser configuration does your production volume require? Renishaw offers single, dual, and quad-laser configurations in the RenAM 500 series. The RenAM 500Q (four lasers) and RenAM 500Q Flex (with TEMPUS technology, enabling lasers to fire during recoating) are designed for series production where throughput is the primary constraint. If you are in early qualification or low-volume prototyping, the single-laser RenAM 500S may be the more cost-effective entry point.
How does in-process metrology fit into your AM workflow? Renishaw is the only metal AM manufacturer that also produces the metrology systems used to inspect parts after printing — including the REVO system, Equator gauging, and CMM technology. If closed-loop quality assurance, reduced inspection cycle time, or integration with an existing Renishaw measurement infrastructure is a priority, a Renishaw end-to-end workflow from build plate to inspection report deserves serious evaluation.
What are your material qualification requirements? Renishaw provides validated parameter sets for commonly used alloys including titanium (Ti6Al4V), stainless steel (316L), Inconel 625 and 718, and cobalt chrome. Aerospace and medical applications typically require full parameter traceability and may need application-specific parameter development. Confirm whether your alloy has an existing validated set, and clarify Renishaw's process for supporting custom alloy development if required.
