Solukon will be showing a special edition of its compact SFM-AT350 depowdering system at this year's RAPID + TCT.
The company, which specialises in automated depowdering systems for additive manufacturing (AM), has developed a variant - the SFM-AT350-E - that's compatible with EOS's newly-launched EOS M4 ONYX metal AM system.
Intentionally designed to reduce the factory footprint for necessary 3D printing post-processing equipment, the ONYX edition maintains the compact size of the original SFM-AT350, which launched back in 2021. Solukon says the system is intended for use with compact parts below 450 x 450 x 250 mm in size and up to 100 kg in weight, while larger parts printed on the EOS M4 ONYX are better suited to its bigger SFM-AT800-S and SFM-AT1000-S systems.
In a press release, the company specifically pinpoints the healthcare sector as a key user group for the SFM-AT350-E. Its ultrasonic depowdering technology, which uses very high, self-regulating ultrasonic vibration, can gently remove residual powder from delicate medical components, such as spinal cages, without compromising structural integrity or surface quality. Visitors to Boston will be able to see titanium spinal cages being processed inside the system on booth #1435.
