3D SYstems has launched Print3D, an interactive CAD plugin tool that makes design, quoting and ordering of parts easier than ever.

Available free to users of Pro/E, Solidoworks, Autodesk Inventor and Alibre Design the plugin can be downloaded from www.print3d.com

Non-CAD users can down a standalone version. The plugin provides 'dynamic design cost feedback' and instant access to 3D Systems' on-demand parts sevices.

The development starts to shed some light on the acquisitions spree that the company embarked on in 2010/2011, and goes some way to embedding 3D Systems' solutions into more mainstream design processes.

The process is reminiscent to Dassault Systees announcement last June of the incorporation of a 'Print in 3D' button for it's 3DVIA.com community via Sculpteo.
