A new platform is aiming to simplify the journey into 3D printing by providing clarity on choosing the right additive manufacturing technology.
Additive Companion has officially gone live today during Formnext where founder and CEO (and esteemed TCT adviser) Jonathan Rowley will be introducing the platform on the Industry Stage later this week.
Described as 'a free resource for anyone interested in discovering more about AM within a technology agnostic environment,' Additive Companion has amassed over 400 AM case studies across aerospace, energy, jewellery and beyond, which are designed to help potential users identify their starting points with AM. Case studies are categorised according to user level and can be filtered according to AM process type, material, material sustainability ranking and more. There are also resources focused on each 3D printing method, including definitions, advantages and disadvantages.
The aim, according to the Additive Companion site, is to build a community of users who will be invited to submit their own case studies and keep the hub up to date with new contributions and and corrections.
Additive Companion is available for anyone to access from today. Per a post on LinkedIn, those who join during Formnext will be granted one year of free access.
