Aleph Objects, Inc., makers of the award-winning LulzBot desktop 3D printers, has announced a new partnership with the Odoo Community Association. Odoo is the leading Free Software Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform which provides modules for e-commerce, CRM, inventory, purchasing, HR, and more.
“Today, individuals, organisations, and companies can do more than ever with Free Software,” Aleph Objects, Inc. President and CEO Jeff Moe explained. “Aleph Objects supports the Odoo Community Association (OCA) because their efforts are vital to the continued advancement of Free ERP software that respects user freedom and enables companies to avoid costly, obsolete vendor lock-in.”
The Odoo Community Association, or OCA, is a nonprofit organisation designed to promote the widespread use of Odoo and to support the collaborative development of Odoo features. Aleph Objects runs its entire 100-employee company on software compatible with the Free Software Foundation's guidelines, such as Debian and LibreOffice. The company is excited to be advancing enterprise-grade software that frees companies from vendor lock-in, proprietary migration tools, forced obsolescence, and other anti-features common in the enterprise software
market. Influential members of the OCA community shared their reaction to the news:
“Sponsors from the industry, such as Aleph Objects, definitely help the OCA focus on real business needs,” OCA President Joël Grand-Guillaume commented. “They also allow us to strengthen our vision of a real collaborative and Open Source ecosystem around a business application like Odoo.”
"Aleph Objects' support for the OCA is very good news,” OCA Board Member and Odoo Practice Leader at Savoir-faire Linux Maxime Chambreuil added. “It demonstrates that our actions and efforts so far are meaningful not only to individuals but to organizations as well. We hope it will inspire others to join and to support our future activities."
