Global additive manufacturing revenues reached 24.2 billion USD in 2025, according to the Wohlers Report 2026.
That would represent a 10.9% year-over-year growth, a slight increase on 2024’s figures but significantly lower than the 20%+ growth rates the Wohlers Report measured pre-pandemic.
Per the 2026 report, the additive manufacturing market is one characterised by increasing utilisation of installed capacity, regional divergence and policy-driven dynamics shaping adoption, rather than rapid system expansion.
Printing services accounted for the largest share of the market at 48%, with system sales and servicing obtaining a 26% share, materials a 20% share and software a 6% share. AM services are said to have grown by 15.5% in 2025, while system sales grew by a more modest 3.6%. Companies in the Asia-Pacific region continued to build on their momentum with an average revenue growth of 19.8%. Companies in the Americas grew by an average of 12.6%, while those in Europe, the Middle East and Africa grew by an average of 9%.
The report suggests these figures indicate a maturing industry where value creation is ‘increasingly concentrated in production and service delivery rather than new hardware sales.’
“Additive manufacturing is no longer advancing on a single, uniform growth curve,” said Dr. Mahdi Jamshid, Director of Market Intelligence at Wohlers Associates. “What we see in Wohlers Report 2026 is an industry adjusting to tighter capital conditions, more selective investment, and higher expectations for utilisation and return. Growth continues, but it is more uneven, more regional, and more closely tied to real production outcomes.”
Alongside the release of Wohlers Report 2026, ASTM International and Wohlers Associates are expanding how market insights are delivered through ASTM International’s digital platform. As the platform grows, it will increasingly complement the annual report by providing more frequent updates, deeper segmentation, timelier data between annual cycles, and ongoing visibility into market activity, regional developments, and standards-related progress.
The new format of Wohlers Report 2026, ASTM International says, reflects a broader shift in how industry leaders engage with market information, combining long-standing, trusted annual analysis with more continuous insight to navigate an increasingly complex additive manufacturing environment.
The Wohlers Report 2026 is available now through ASTM International’s digital platform.
