ZWSOFT ZW3D
The advent of 3D printing may have brought about a new way of working in the CAD/CAM software industry.
Chinese software company ZWSOFT - which was founded in 1998 and has offices across China and in Florida - had 3D printing at the forefront of its plans when it developed ZW3D.
The cost-effective CAD/CAM software in its most recent incarnation has helped designers to work more easily and seamlessly with 3D printers.
The program facilitates 3D modelling, mould design and machining, helping engineers from concept to the finished product.
3D printing allows designers and developers to progress more expediently from virtual images in software to physical objects in reality and making adjustments and changes in a more intuitive way by judging real products rather than conceptual sketches.
Moreover, manufacturing systems reach completion more cost-efficiently, helping to accelerate the product life circle in the 3D modelling and prototyping industry.
ZWSOFT claims that the new 3D printing function in ZW3D 2013 allows designers and engineers to leverage the advantages of 3D printing to improve their working efficiency.
The company stated that as the 3D printing sector continues to grow it is creeping into every facet of life and industry, from biosciences to aerospace.
Vice-Director of ZW3D Overseas Business Colin Lin stated: "With the launch of 3D printing technology, it now allows designers to see their designs in a more intuitive way.
"Therefore, we want to establish a close connection with 3D printing in ZW3D, allowing designers to better leverage the 3D printing technology to improve product quality, boost design efficiency and facilitate prototyping and manufacturing as well."
