3D printing industry giant 3D Systems and international confectionary brand Hershey have teamed up to develop 3D-printed goodies that are pleasing to eat and to the eye.
3D Systems announced today (January 16th) that is has entered into a multi-hear joint development agreement with Hershey, the largest producer of chocolate in North America, to explore and develop innovative opportunities for using 3D Systems' technology in creating edibles such as sweeties.
Hershey's Chief Research and Development Officer William Papa said: "We believe that innovation is key to delivering relevant, compelling consumer experiences with our iconic brands. Whether it's creating a whole new form of candy or developing a new way to produce it, we embrace new technologies such as 3D printing as a way to keep moving our timeless confectionery treats into the future."
This new partnership combines Hershey's globally-renowned food science expertise with 3D Systems' 3D printing technology to deliver a new consumer experience.
