3dbyflow portable 3D printer
Judging by the amount of miniature, foldaway, carry-handle style 3D printers popping up recently, it would be fair to assume that portability is a key demand from potential 3D printer buyers.
Adding to the trend is the 3Dbyflow from Dutch company by flow, a discreet, portable 3D printer, though you wouldn’t know it to look at. Disguised in a sleek briefcase style design, it looks more suited to carrying a laptop than an entire 3D printer.
However, inside is a compact FFF 3D printer. Benefiting from a special folding mechanism, the machine is easy to store and can be unfolded wherever you may need it. As the maker's claim: "You can take it anywhere you want."
Now for the specs. The printer offers a build volume of 215 x 220 x 160 mm and a layer height between 50 and 400 microns. When unfolded, the printer itself has a maximum size of 440 x 325 x 460 mm and weighs around 7kg.

Foldable 3D printer
It is a multipurpose machine and compatible with a range of extruders. Users will be able to print in a variety of materials including PLA, ABS, ceramics, bio rubber, nylon, laywood and more.
The machine can be used with Slic3r, Cura and Repetier Host and comes with a display, SD card input and simple control button.
Only very basic details have been released so far about the 3Dbyflow but as far as portable and compact 3D printers go, it looks set to be one of the most promising yet.
